Jazz Kitchen

Following World War I, large numbers of jazz musicians migrated from New Orleans to major northern cities corresponding to Chicago and New York, leading to a wider dispersal of jazz as completely different kinds developed in several cities. As the Nineteen Twenties progressed, jazz rose in popularity and helped to generate a cultural shift. Several well-known entertainment venues such as the Apollo Theater and the Cotton Club came to epitomize the Jazz Age. Probably this is a reference to the idea of jazz that has been very efficiently promoted by Wynton Marsalis and the establishment he cofounded, Jazz at Lincoln Center.
